So when we were engaged I bought the book for when we have our own 'wild things' but if they ever, EVER, get on my table and yell "WOMAN, FEED ME" oh so help me.

Let the wild rumpus start
Oh no my heart! I was just reading about dear Maurice Sendak and felt like a piece of my childhood is now officially over! This is how I felt when the last Harry Potter book cameout, or when I was told I was too big to be in the bouncy castle, or when NSync broke up! Natalie at Nat the Fat Rat (one of my favorite blogs!) wrote this post about it today, and I couldn't say it better myself... But I shall tell you my sorrow in the form of a story...
When Bryce and I first started dating (I would like to add that he wanted me to give him a 'cool' name when I talk about him on the blog... his suggestions included: muscle man, b-fab, and big daddy. We are going to stick with Bryce. Maybe on his birthday i'll branch out to b-ry. Maybe). Ok so when Bryce and I started dating the Where the Wild Things Are movie was just about to come out and I don't think i've ever seen anyone excited about anything, ever, in my entire life, as he was for that movie. We even had a wild rumpus party with all our friends the night the movie came out and he went to Burger King and got everyone crowns (like Max, duh) and made us go to the theater an hour early. But it's ok because changed my world! It reminded me what of what I used to love! Not only was the movie so well done, but watching my beared boyfriend act like 5 year old Bryce made me feel like I could do anything- I could be a king, and sail anywhere I wanted to, I could have crazy adventures, and face things that scared me.
So when we were engaged I bought the book for when we have our own 'wild things' but if they ever, EVER, get on my table and yell "WOMAN, FEED ME" oh so help me.

When is the beard coming back?!
ReplyDeleteWill you still be my friend if I say I didn't like the movie?
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I thought when I heard Maurice died was, "I wonder how Bryce is taking this."
ReplyDeleteOh, and have you guys read The Wild Things by Dave Eggers? It's really good.
ReplyDeleteI haven't, but I will- I need something to help me get through!
